The Labrador retriever is the kind of dog which likes to be around family, they are good dogs and love to be around children. Here are some advices on how to properly take care of your retriever.

1. This breed reached the mature age harder than other breeds. While the normal breed reaches adulthood at the age of two the Labrador retriever reached this stage at the age of three.

2. Be careful on the amount the food it eats, being overweight is not a good thing for the dog. You need to keep it on a diet so as to prevent any heart or arthritis issues.

3. You should bathe your Labrador only if it starts to smell. It does not need any special bathing conditions you can do it in the comfort of your home.

4. Search the internet about what health problems this dog may have. The most common problems that they have are: eye problems, hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia.

5. The coat must be brushed once a week to prevent heavy shedding.

6. You should start training them from an early age because they can be stubborn. During the training you must be patient and consistent in order to have the result you want.

7. Make sure you trim the dogs nails every month in order to prevent foot infections.

8. They can leave indoors and outdoors but they prefer to live in a house. They are active so they need a yard where they can play and consume their energy.

9. They can live between 10 and 12 years if they are properly taken care of.

Now, here are some tips and warnings regarding the Labrador retriever:

1. Unlike other dogs the Labrador retriever likes to swim so make sure you always have a towel at hand so you can dry them.

2. They need between 30 to 60 minutes of exercise so make sure that you always have somebody at home who is willing to play with it.

3. Labrador puppies are very active, some even call them hyperactive. The main reasons why people give them up is because of this and because they get bigger that people expect them too.

It is a wonderful dog which is both intelligent and loving. If you have children they will certainly love it because it is good with them and like to play. They do not need much grooming so you do not have to worry about that.

Jindo is a Korean dog which is considered a rare species in the north of America. They have common features with the Akita dog and with the Shiba Inu. So, if you see a combination of the two you may be looking at a Jindo. They can live for a very long time, up to 15 years is they are well taking care of. It is a very loving and loyal dog which is the perfect profile for a family pet, they are also independent.

In order to make sure that everything is all right with your dog take it to regular checkups and make sure it has all its vaccines up to date. You can also exam it from time to time in the comfort of your home by looking at the dog’s ears, skin, teeth, gums and nose.

Like all dogs you should consider getting it neutered. If you neuter females before their first heat you will reduce the chances of it developing breast cancer, uterine infections and ovarian cancer. If you neuter your male you will prevent it from testicular cancer, curb aggression and maintain the prostate in a healthy stage.

The teeth of the Jindo have to be cleaned every six months so you should take it to the veterinarian to have this procedure done. If you want to do it yourself then ask your vet for a recommended schedule and advice on what cleaning products are the most appropriate for your pet.

The food you use to feed your Jindo has to be high quality, with no preservatives. If you decide to make its food at home make sure the meals are balanced and that it gets the crabs, fibers, and proteins fats and vitamins it needs.

In order to prevent any problems in your dogs behavior make sure you have it trained from a very early age. They tend to have a mind of their own which is why a firm, but not harsh, training is recommended.

They need their daily exercises and walk so make sure you provide them. If you live in an apartment it will not be a problem just as long as you take them for walks and play with them.

The good news is that you do not have to bathe them on a regular basis because they like to clean themselves and they don’t have a habit of getting dirty.

According to the dog club of America the German Sheppard is a dog full of life, muscled, alert and strong. They make good pets if you care for them the right way. Here are some advices on how you should take care of your dog.

1. You should brush the dog’s hair daily because they tend to shed a lot; they are heavy shedder twice a year

2. Watch what food you give eat because it is not allowed to become overweight. If it gains pounds that it does not need it will start to develop problems such as arthritis or heart problems.

3. Research on the internet or consult your vet about the problems that are specific to the German Sheppard. You will find out that it can suffer from: calcium goat, cataracts, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, Von Willebrand’s disease, chronic pancreatitis, ephylepsy, glaucoma, torsion, retinal atrophy, slipped discs and hemophilia.

4. German Sheppard’s are not dirty dogs so you do not need to bathe it often but when you do you can do it in the comfort of your home. You have to use shampoo special made for dogs.

5. Trim the dog´s nails every two weeks to prevent any foot infection
6. When you are training your dog you must be firm because of their intelligence. They will learn fast because they are always willing to please.

7. This dog can be held indoors or outdoors but it prefers indoors because it like to be around its family. They are the kind of dogs which live in packs.

8. A German Sheppard can live up to 13 years if they are properly taken care of.

Here are some tips and warnings:

1. If you plan to keep your dog inside the house make sure you have a portable vaccinate cleaner because they shed a lot.
2. If you live in a house make sure the fence that surrounds the yard is secure because German Sheppard’s are not big fans of strangers and you do not want to have problems.
3. Because they need their daily exercise make sure that you have someone at home willing to play with the dog half an hour or 90 minutes.
4. Many owners give up their German Sheppard because they shed too much or because they are bigger than they expected it to be.

Whatever you may do just make sure that you take our advice and provide your dog with healthy food, frequent visits to the vet and proper grooming.

At one point the Mastiff dogs were fighting dogs, now they are companions which love their family very much. It is a very intelligent breed who can protect his loved ones with calm and it is also great with children. Because of its size you should supervise it if you have toddlers. They are not big fans of strangers which is why they will refuse to let them. They will let their guard down only if they are specifically accepted by its family. If you plan on buying other dogs you should buy the mastiff and the other dogs from an early age because they bond better. Be careful not to trigger separation anxiety issues because it may happen since the Mastiff is a companionship lover. This breed is difficult to train but it can be done just with lot of patience coming from the owner.

The Mastiff dog is quite large and the males are bigger and more massive than the females. Males weigh about 160 pounds while females weigh up to 150 pounds. The height of the female is of 27 ½ inches and the males height is of 30 inches. The Mastiff is a tall dog, whoever the height is not due to its long legs it is because of the depth of its body. Because the dog is so massive it has very strong bones and heavy musculature in order to be able to support the weight of its body.

The head is wide and has a massive appearance. The ears are v shaped and rounded at the tip, but quite small compared to his head. The eyes are small and set apart. The Mastiff has a very muscular and powerful neck which increases in breadth and connects with the shoulders. The feet from the rear are very muscular, like all of its body and the front feet of the dog are compact, with black nails and arched toes. The legs are set apart and the tail make a small curve when it is up.

This breed comes in only three colors: brindle, apricot and fawn. They have a double layer of coat: the outer coat is short and the undercoat is short and dense. They can have a white spot on their chest but it is nit very common. If they have an apricot or fawn fur the brindle can create dark stripes which are very noticeable.

These are some important points that you should follow in order to take proper care of your boxer:

1. Once you have bought you dog take it to the vet to have the shots that it needs and after this make sure that you bring it once a year to have its booster shots. Ask your vet what are the proper products against fleas and about worming.

2. The food that you give it should have meat as its main ingredient. It should also have the following percentages: 20 % or raw fat, 30 % raw protein and 4 % fiber.

3. They do not get dirty very often which is why you do not need to bathe it at a certain period of time.

4. If you want puppies you should consider buying a crate for them. This helps you when you want to train them and at the same time it represents a hiding place for when the puppies want to be alone.

5. Make sure you train your dog from a very early age or as soon as you get it because they can become disobedient. Because of their intelligence they will have no problem in learning and doing what you ask them. The first thing you should do when you start training them is train the out of jumping on people.

6. Research or ask your vet about the boxer’s heath problems. They can develop problems such as: tumors, hypothyroidism, hip dysplasia, aortic stenosis and bloat.

7. They can live up to the age of 12.

The good thing is that they do not bark if they do not have a justified reason. If you are looking for a dog which loves to sit with you for hours while you read then you have found your dog. If you live in an area where the climate is either very hot or very cold then you should keep it indoors as much as possible. Do not be surprised if the snore because they are prone to it.

The Bernese mountain dog is a loyal and lovable companion. It is the type of dog which fits perfectly into a family and who needs to be actively involved in all the family´s activities. They are very attentive and learn quickly but they grow into mature dogs, as far as behavior is concerned, slow. If you get this dog you will only enjoy it as an adult just a couple of years.

These are the main things that you should do when purchasing the Bernese mountain dog:

1. The first thing you should do is take it to the vet to have all its needed shots done. Make sure you take it regularly to the vet and do not forget to do its yearly booster shots. Ask your vet what flea products are best for your dog.

2. You should only feed it high quality food if you want your pet to stay healthy, make sure that meat is the main ingredient. The percentage that should be found in your dogs every day meal is the usual: 4 % fiber, 30 % raw protein and 20 % raw fat.

3. The Bernese does not do well isolated or ignored so include it in your daily activities because it likes to spend all its time with its family.

4. After you have bought your puppies start thinking about training them because they are big and you want them to be house trained. They are not hard to train because all they want is to please you.

5. Take into consideration that the Bernese takes a long time to mature which is why you should be patient and gentle during its training. Under no circumstances use a harsh training method because they are sensitive.

6. From an early age start the socialization process because the Bernese tends to be a bit shy around people if it is not used with them.

7.Do not forget the dogs daily exercise, it does not need to run or so any intense activities it is very pleased if you just walk with it a couple of times a day.

8. They have a big and fluffy fur so you need to brush it every day in order to prevent heavy shedding. They shed heavily twice a year and they do not need frequent bathing because they clean themselves. You have to trim its nail one every three weeks.

The Australian shepherd is a very active and intelligent dog which was originally used at herding sheep and cattle. When they are not used for these activities they love to be around children because they give it the same feeling of guiding. They are active dogs so they need lots of activities during the day especially outside, where they need to be surrounded by a secure fence.

Vaccine your dogs as soon as you purchase it and take it once a year to have its booster shots. Talk to your vet about what anti flea products are best for your dog. You should worm your Saint Bernard once every three months.

Avoid giving this dog a big meal once days instead give it two or three meals. Like most dogs you should give it only high quality of food. Do not feed it table scraps because they are not good for their health. The percentage that a meal must be respected for all dogs including the Australian Shepherd: no more than 4 % fiber, 20 % or more of crude fat and 30 % or more of crude protein.

The Australian shepherd has a sense of propriety very well developed so you have to make sure to socialize it from a very early age in order to prevent problems with strangers or visitors.

This shepherd needs exercise at least once a day. It needs daily activities in order to keep it busy and fit. If you neglect this part of its routine it will start digging holes into your yard and chewing.

This breed is a medium shedder so what you need to do is brush its coat every day in order to prevent heavy shedding. They shed a great deal twice a year. You only have to bathe it when you feel it is necessary but you do need to trim its nails once every three months.

They can reach up to 23 inches in height and weigh between 27 to 40 pounds. They can live up to the age of 12 if they are properly taken care of.

In order to prevent you from buying a dog which may develop in time some kind of diseases talk with a recognized breeder which is specialized in Australian shepherds. They can suffer from diseases such as: progressive retinal atrophy, hip dysplasia, Von Willebrand disease or cataract.

The Tibetan Mastiff is a very intelligent dog who is always independent and always with a strong will. The dog is light footed which means that it can run very fast and it is also powerful and balanced. It makes an excellent watch dog because it is very protective of its family and it is not a fan of strangers. Even though it can scare dogs it is not shy it actually attacks the intruder if he is invading its space. In the past they were used very often as guard dogs.

Size and dimensions
Both males and females Tibetan Mastiff weight on average between 140 and 170 pounds. The females of this breed are smaller than the males with about 24 inches in length while the males can reach up to 26 inches. The shape of the dog’s body is similar to a rectangular because of the size of the rear withers which are a bit longer than the ground writhers.

The head
The head of the Tibetan Mastiff is heavy and string giving it a noble and intelligent expression. The eyes are set far apart one from the other, found in any shade of brown. The eyes are positioned deeply into the skull and they are very expressive because of their almond shape. The ears are pointing up when the dog is alert and dropped forward when the dog is relaxed, they have a v shape.
The fur can be only these colors: blue, tan, grey or brown. There are of course different shades of brown and different shades of blue or grey.

The neck and legs
The neck is muscular and arched into the angled shoulders. The chest is slightly wide and deep. The legs of the Tibetan Mastiff are cat like, toned with strong bones and muscles. The rear of the dog in muscular and can have one or two dewclaws. The tail is not so long, it is medium and does not go further than the hock joint. When the dog is in motion the tail curls on the side or on the back.

The fur
This breed has a double layer of coat. The outside layer is coarse and covers the soft and silky layer beneath it. The first layer, the one near the skin, sheds in the summer so the fur in not so heavy. The furs of the coat are always straight and come in the following colors: blue grey, black and brown. They have white spots like most dogs have on the chest and toes.

The Saint Bernard is the heaviest dog in the world and it is not recommended for people who are buying a dog for the first time. Even though we have seen this breed in many movies the truth is that it does not integrate very well in the average family. It is a very picky dog, it needs a lot of attention, time and you have to invest a lot of money in it. They are very intelligent which means that they get bored very easy. If you do not entertain them or exercise with them they will start to develop an unhealthy behavior.

Saint Bernards come from Switzerland and are known to exist since 1500. At the beginning they were not called so, the name of Saint Bernard was adopted in 1880 from the monastery St. Bernard’s Pass situated in the Swiss Alps where it is thought the breed was born. It is thought to be the descended of the extinct breed Molossian who was probably mixed with a Napolitan mastiff.

Nowadays scientist search the reason why Saint Bernards were created. It is known that Saint Bernards were actually used by monks for companionship, to guard them and to rescue them. Regular people use them mostly as pets but they are also used in the entertainment industry and for light activities.

They are very massive, the have a big head, a big black nose, small eyes, droopy ears and a blocky and blunt body. You can only find them in two colors: white and orange red. The Saint Bernard has two layers of fur, one of short hair and the other one with long hair. The live up only to the age of nine and they have an excellent sens of smell. Keep in mind that this dog needs a lot of space to consume all his energy.

The most common diseases the Saint Bernards are exposed to are: heart problems, hip dysplasia, eyelid problems, skin problems and wobbler syndrome. In order to avoid any of this problems or others that may appear keep in mind that this dog was created to live in areas with cold temperature, so any warm are will harm him even if he is left only with his short skin.

If you live in an area where there are mountains or where the temperature is always cold than you can buy this dog. He will make an excellent guard dog, it will protect you and it will always be loyal to you.

The Chihuahua is a toy dog which is very sensitive. It can be found in a number of colors such as: brown, black, gray, blue, fawn or blond. It is very sensitive to the sun and they can suffer from heart stokes if it is left too much in the sun. This happens because it loves the sun so much. There are a couple of thing that you should do in order to have a clean and healthy companion.

Take your dog to the vet to have all its shots done also take it once a year to have its booster shots. Consult your vet about what are the best flea products for this breed and about worming your dog. The food you give it must be of high quality and have the main ingredient meat. The food must have the following balance: 4 % fiber, 30 % raw protein and 20 % raw fat. The meal should be served three times a day instead of one big meal.

If you have a Chihuahua with short hair all you have to do is brush it every day or clean it with a soft towel. If it has long hair just brush the fur every day to keep it smooth. When it comes to bathes for this breed you have to wash it once a month but be careful not to let the water get into its ears because it can develop and ear infection. Chihuahuas with long fur need more cleaning than the ones with short hair.

They do not need to be walked intensively but they do need daily exercise. They usually have bursts of energy during which they consume all their energy. An apartment is enough for them to play and do their daily exercise.

If you consider training you dog be gentle and try to make them socialize with other animals and children from an early age. Because they need a lot of love and attention coming from humans you should pet it whenever you get the chance.

If you live in a cold area or during winter the temperature is below 35 degrees F you should buy it a sweater in order to prevent it from getting sick.

They make perfect pets if you live in an apartment. All they need is a lot of attention, if you give them that then they are happy. Just follow the steps on cleaning, feeding and exercise and you will have a healthy dog.
